With over 30 years of experience in leadership development, and higher education administration, Dr. Drew Van Horn has developed a unique approach to Life Coaching that combines evidence-based practices with a client-centered focus. Dr. Van Horn holds a Master's degree in Counseling , a Ph.D. in Leadership Development and is a certified Executive Coach.
Julia is a licensed mental health counselor who has experience counseling individuals with anxiety, depression, and ADHD in private practice. Julia approaches client care from a holistic perspective, and believes that you are too dynamic to be limited to a diagnosis. Therefore, Julia practices with a client-centered focus, drawing heavily from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Julia holds a bachelors degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a masters degree in mental health counseling from the University of Georgia.

Clinical counseling focuses on addressing mental health concerns and disorders, requiring licensed professionals with specialized training to diagnose and treat, while coaching emphasizes goal setting, performance improvement, and personal development
We believe that clients have highly individualized needs, and that insurance companies, while helpful in innumerable ways, tend to limit our scope of practice. Therefore, we are a self-pay practice. Please reach out to us to discuss payment options.
For clinical counseling with Julia, we can provide you with a medical superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed and for what amount.
For clinical counseling, the first session will be longer than subsequent sessions, and will include intake paperwork and assessments that Julia deems necessary. Julia will work with you to crystallize your goals and develop a working plan to meet those goals. Please expect to set aside 1.5 to 2 hours for the first session.
For caching sessions with Drew, the first session will be 45 minutes for him to understand your situation and to answer questions for you to feel if the coaching relationship will fit your needs. The first session with Drew is free of charge. If you wish to pursue additional sessions, they will be 60 minutes each.
That decision is up to the discretion and treatment style of the provider. For counseling, Julia requires weekly attendance for the first six sessions as the working relationship is established, with an opportunity to reduce frequency of sessions as the client experiences improvement.
Please note that insurance companies may have certain requirements for reimbursement when it comes to session attendance. We encourage you to touch base with your insurance company in order to find out what they require.
For coaching, the number of sessions needed will be left to the client with Drew providing his insights to assist in the decision making process. On average Drew's clients schedule three sessions with some scheduling monthly followups as needed.
